Duff Radio
A modern online radio and media platform out of Kansas City — original music, interviews, vlogs, and music videos, made to lift up creatives and put more ears on the work.
Duff Radio started with a microphone and a question: who's telling the stories of Kansas City's underground? Not the names already on the marquee, but the artists, producers, and engineers grinding one release at a time. The platform took shape in 2021; in 2023, the question became a podcast.
From there it grew into something bigger — a full multimedia project that makes the music it documents. Beats built in FL Studio. Mixtapes and singles pulling in collaborators from across the city. Cinematic interviews and music videos shot on a Blackmagic 6K. And now, editorial writing to tie the whole scene together.
It's all one person wearing every hat: writer, engineer, producer, videographer, and editor. That's the point. Duff Radio is proof you can build a real platform from the ground up — and use it to lift other people up while you do it.

The Timeline
The camera comes out at Emerald Dreams Lab during the Mighty Casual Vol. 1 sessions. On January 16, 2021, the first Duff Radio Show airs: STBtheDon and Conor Chill Out debuting new music. The domain gets registered. Duff Radio is real.
The Duff Radio Podcast launches on every audio platform — long-form interviews with KC artists, producers, and guests worth hearing, every Sunday.
The first original release: Duff Radio Mixtape, Vol. 1, recorded in a single day at Emerald Dreams Lab with ten collaborators. Spotify and Apple Music artist profiles go live.
A heavy year — Vol. 2 at The Zoo Studios, the Vol. 3 house album at Energy and Jams, "Dark Side," "Last Song," the walk & talk series, and Season 4 of the podcast.
"Nun' to Say / Feel My Pain" brings the whole crew onto one record, and duffradio.com becomes the home for all of it.
The Founder
Ty McDuffey
Ty McDuffey is a writer, audio engineer, music producer, videographer, and self-published author. He holds a Juris Doctor from UMKC School of Law and a Professional Writing degree from Missouri State University, where he was on the football roster.
Raised at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri and now based in northern New Mexico, he also runs Elephant Rock Writing & Content Creation, LLC. Duff Radio is where the music, the camera, and the writing all come together.
