STBtheDON Opens a Different Door on “Shades Of Red”
Four tracks, four shades of red, and a turn nobody saw coming: STBtheDON is singing, and it sounds like bedroom pop.
By Ty McDuffey · The Duff Radio Dispatch · September 4, 2026
If you know STBtheDON from “Speed Racing,” from “Go Up,” or from “NASCAR Core,” you know a certain velocity. That is not what this is.
Shades Of Red is four songs in ten minutes. Every one of them named after a color, and on every one of them, STBtheDON is singing. Not rap-singing. Singing. Warm, close to the mic, the genre people are now calling bedroom pop. Love songs. It is a side of him that has not been on a record before.
We asked him about it. He answered:
“I did this one with Cam and no cap gang we got so much to talk about... I wanted to show a different side like never before and really give a piece of what's behind that door. i'm happy you fw it and see the vision (not like you wouldn't).”

He made it with Cam, better known as OkCasheyy, and recorded it at SoundXScapes Studios in downtown Kansas City, the same studio “Nun' to Say / Feel My Pain” came out of.

Who this is
STBtheDON, since Show #1

Kansas City artist and the very first guest in Duff Radio history: he debuted three songs on Show #1 in January 2021. Since then he has been on Mixtape Vol. 2 with “Speed Racing,” on Vol. 3 with “Go Up,” and on “Nun' to Say” this year. Two long-form conversations on the podcast. Five years of showing up. This is the record where he shows up differently.
